2.1 Information You Provide

- Business Information: Business name, address, category, and other details you provide when registering a business location for monitoring.
- Payment Information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect payment details through our payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
- Communications: If you contact us for support or provide feedback, we collect the content of those communications.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Pages and features accessed, timestamps, frequency of use, search queries, and interaction patterns within the Service.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, and push notification tokens (if you enable push notifications).
- Location Data: We do not collect your real-time GPS location. Business addresses you register are geocoded (converted to latitude/longitude coordinates) using a third-party geocoding service to enable proximity-based permit matching.
- Log Data: IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, and crash reports.
2.3 Information from Public Data Sources
We ingest publicly available data from the following New York City Open Data sources:
- NYC Department of Buildings (DOB NOW): Building permit filings, including permit type, address, filing date, and permit status.
- NYC Department of Transportation (DOT): Street construction and sidewalk/lane closure permits, including location, dates, and permit details.
This data is publicly available and does not contain personal information about our users.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the Service: Match nearby construction permits to your registered business locations, generate alerts, and deliver notifications.
- Process Payments: Manage subscriptions, billing, and invoicing through our payment processor.
- Communicate with You: Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, alert notifications), service updates, and respond to support requests.
- Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns to improve features, fix bugs, and optimize performance.
- Ensure Security: Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
- Comply with Legal Obligations: Respond to lawful requests from public authorities and comply with applicable laws.

- Alert History: Retained for the duration of your subscription. Historical alert data is purged 90 days after account closure.
- Public Permit Data: Retained indefinitely as it is publicly available information.
- Payment Records: Retained for 7 years as required for tax and accounting compliance.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls to ensure users can only access their own data, and regular security monitoring.
No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 Account Management
- Access and Update: You can access and update your account information through the Service at any time.

7.2 Communication Preferences
